What Makes The Corn Kernel Cutter Stand Out?
Here at CZ Engineering, we wanted to to stand out from other corn cutters on the market. Here are some of the things that makes The Corn Kernel Cutter (aka “CKC”) special:
- * The CKC is an all metal construction -- either stainless steel or hard coat anodized Teflon impregnated aluminum. The knife is a big chunk of stainless steel that can be easily sharpened many times. The CKC will last multiple life times -- it is designed to be handed down generation to generation.
- * The CKC uses flow control valves to meter the stroke of the air cylinder -- that makes it much safer. Our flow controls valves can be opened for faster strokes but are factory adjusted to balance speed and safety.
- * In the CKC, the ear of corn takes a vertical, center line path through the cutter. The idea is to keep the cob centered in the knife to prevent lop-sided cutting that results in cob mixed in with the kernels. The center line path automatically adjusts for different diameter ears in ways that you can't if the ear is laying on its side.
- * In the CKC the ear is pushed through the knife with a funnel shaped pusher with a spring loaded center plunger that pushes the cob through the knife. The funnel straightens and centers the ear to optimize the quality of the cut. All the parts are machined on state of the art 5 axis CNC machine tools. That allows for precision fit that maximizes performance of the CKC and economical manufacturing.
- * Besides the safer metered stroke
of the CKC, several other safety features are built in.
- - The knife is recessed in the depth of the chamber where it is away from fingers.
- - The ear goes in a chamber that is safer than the open areas of other corn cutters.
- - The actuating valve uses a recessed button that is easy to push with a finger or thumb, but is hard to accidentally actuate like a lever or protruding button is. The valve is spring loaded for automatic retraction of the cylinder when released.
- - A safety pin contains the air cylinder in a retracted position when not in use.
